“Everything started in 1988 ’cause of a school friend that was Djing at home: spending time with him and with his turntables took me into mixing. I remember that my first turntables where without pitch control… my fingers where the pitch control! My first gigs where at private parties and with the money I earned I finally bought the mythical Technics turntables. After my studies I’ve been working at touristic villages and, on that period, I participated to a DJ competition in a club located nearby the place I was working, and I won. The resident DJ of that club, Tony De Franchi (from Milan, too), became a good friend of mine and, during the following months, he introduced me into the Milan club scene. In 1993 I also worked as DJ/speaker at a local radio station, Radio Power Station. In 1993 I won a DJ competition in Switzerland as well.
In 1995 I discovered the rave scene in Zurich, at Energy, and RND Promotion was born: I started a collaboration with Arnold Mayer (Energy boss) to promote his raves in Italy, and from that moment on RND became the Italian connection with foreign rave parties. With RND I had the opportunity to work together with Christian Hornbostel at Radio Italia Network, presenting “Rave on line”. After that, together with Digital Boy, we presented “Extreme”, a hardcore/industrial radio show, again on Radio Italia Network.
My first steps in the music business started in 1995/1996, when I was working at ACV as an office manager and distribution accountant. On ACV I remixed Robert Armani’s “Fantastic Voyage” (there was a Sven Vath remix on the same ep). After that, some releases on Hot Tracks and Acid Tribe.
I’ve always been busy with techno productions as well, under the pseudonyms Steve Land and Dex, releasing my music on Planet Rhythm UK, Audio, Molecular, Eukatek: I’ve just started Random Electronic, my Paris-based techno label.
Concerning the hardcore scene, I’ve been label manager at Head Fuck Records for two years and, after that, I started my own R-909 Records, (nowadays member label of Hardtunes) producing great Frenchcore and hardcore tracks; I’ve also released many tracks on labels as IST, Epiteth, Traxtorm, PKG ecc.
In 1996 Randy began an adventure into the extreme side of electronic music: his mixes begin to be more Hardcore and Industrial.
During the year 1997, he produced a lot of tracks which quickly became hits in Europa.
These tracks were released on the Italian label Traxtorm, at the end of 1997, then he associated himself with Digital Boy de Raveology to create his own label: Headfuck, for techno Hardcore.
This label is quickly recognized across all of Europe for its quality.
Randy went to make a lot of collaborations with artists like Claudio Lancinhouse, Laurent Ho, Micropoint, Noize Creator, The Destroyer… but the most important collaboration is with LuKas (Luca Tavaglione) with whom he started the “Headfuck DJ Team”.
In 2000 he created his new hardcore label: Randy 909% Records, which featured about 20 releases until today.
In 2005, he collaborated with Radium for his authentic compositions, released on Psychik Genocide and on R-909 Records
He released a series of mixes with Audiogenic named “Hardcore French Kiss” which make you discover other sides of Frenchcore…
