10-06-2010 - Interview Robin Albers

For many, the house music adventure began with a radio show on Radio 3 which was named illustriously: ‘For Those Who Like To Groove’. Two hours long of deep house and grooves, but also guest mixes by people like Paul Elstak. This was house music in all its glory in its early days and, at the same time, the place where Robin Albers’ world hit ‘Plastic Dreams’ could be heard for the first time by the public.

How did you respond when you found out you were asked to perform at Ground Zero?
I jumped into the air and bought sweets for the whole street.

What can the people expect from your set?
I never know what to expect from myself. I’m an unaccountable person so it will be a surprise for the people... Just as it will be for me.

The theme of this year is The 5th Epidemic. How can people survive this epidemic?
I’m prepared. I’ve dug a hole under my house of 38 meters deep. Underneath that I’ve constructed a survival bunker with enough oxygen and food for seven years, because after seven lean years we will have the sweet. I have enough movies, internet and reading material down there. Plus my underground studio of course where I will be creating some of the deepest tracks I’ve ever done in the depth. Plus I’ll bring my dog, my girlfriend, my daughters and the cook of my favorite restaurant down there as well.

Are there any other artists you definitely want to check out at Ground Zero?
l would ove to see some porn artists and check out how things are going on the set, to see if it’s fake or not.

What are your plans for the rest 2010?
Stop being annoyed by stupid interviews.

ROBIN ALBERS will perform on the PATROL BOAT.
