DJ Pullstar’s easy going sound fits like no other to the natural, relaxed ambiance of the Carefree Zone. Pullstar is one of the men responsible for Sexy Music and with his loyal posse he will make sure he´ll pay homage to the name Carefree Zone.

How did you respond when you found out you were asked to perform at Ground Zero?
I instantly went looking if my ´plunjebaal´ - a green backpack you receive with gear in the army – was still at my attic. Unfortunately, I will have to get a new survival kit. Gasmask, anti-toxin suit, gatling-gun… You know, the usual. I don’t think it will be a hyped flu from Mexico.

What can the people expect from your set?
Energy. Not like Nuon or that thing of Frans Bauer (Dutch artist promoting a public utilities company). I’m a huge fan of Deadmau5, Sander van Doorn and the new Tiësto style. There is a big chance you will be hearing some of it in my set. A combination of Trance, Electro and Progressive. I think it will be something like that. And otherwise it will be something different…

The theme of this year is The 5th Epidemic. How can people survive this epidemic?
Being good by consuming your vitamins every day. If it doesn’t work, keep dancing till everybody around has dropped to the ground. Apparently I have survived the first four by doing it like this.

Are there any other artists you definitely want to check out at Ground Zero?
I will pay a visit to Yves de Ruyter. I don’t know when he will perform, but hopefully not during my set. For 20 years I have been performing and I have still got some dusty vinyl covers of him. In those 20 years I haven’t yet witnessed him performing live. So it’s a good occasion. The pandemic will hopefully not strike on that boat. If so, we better start swimming.

Besides that I will spend the majority of the night at our own area with friends and colleague Sexy Music DJ’s (XO, Starbanger, Shaine, MC Beer). Of course, I will also want to witness the other DJ’s playing in our area. Spider is a skilled DJ and, from what I’ve heard, the other guys can also spin the tracks. I will have a blast.

What are your plans for the rest 2010?
2010 Will be a busy year for me. This summer I will get married. Furthermore I will be very busy with my organization. Sexy Music is working its way up. Amongst many things I do the graphical side of the business. Not only this, I have also got a very busy job, so the 24 hours in a day are actually three hours to short. When the dust has descended I will begin reconstructing my studio and I will be actively producing again. When I’m down one floor, I’ll have plenty time to rest.

For now: spinning my tracks again and transmitting my message of what good music is all about. In the past I’ve been around with my record case a lot. The feeling is coming back again, so are the bookings. Ground Zero is a good place to let people hear from me again.
